I just had to play this game through again, and play with the expansions which included the Caravan pack, Mercenary pack, Tribal pack and classic pack. All these additions do is give you other choices of armor, weapons, ammo, and more potent chem's. They really add more to the enjoyment of the game, I think, more so when the game is played again. I did not have these the first time I played the game.
The DLC"s give one extended game play from the original main quest. I acquired them all from STEAM for about $5, and as much as I hated to, I made an account there because I just had to have these addons. I find I made a good choice because now I can get older games I want real cheap.
Operation: Anchorage.... I think, the best one of the 4. Difficulty, on a scale of 1 to 10, I give it an 8. Enjoyability I give it a 10.
The Pitt.... This one, I give it a difficult rating an 8. Enjoyability, well a 10. As a matter of fact, I will give all of them a 10 cause I love the game so much.
Point Lookout.... Well, I lied This one was so, so but it did continue the game.
Broken Steel.... A 7 and of course a 10.
Of course, if you need help and walk troughs you can always head over to:

Hummm, other items of information on the DLC"s:
The Pitt allows you to travel to the post-apocalyptic remains of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and become embroiled in a conflict.
The player joins the ranks of the Brotherhood of Steel to rid the Capital Wasteland of the Enclave remnants.
Point Lookout takes place in the Fallout equivalent of Point Lookout State Park, a new swampland area with new quests and enemies.
Operation: Anchorage. Enter a military simulation and fight in one of the greatest battles of the Fallout universe – the liberation of Anchorage, Alaska from its Chinese Communist invaders.
You can go to the following three sites for all your modding needs. There are plenty for all these games mentioned at this site.
